Meeting a bad debtor at Kabagarame in the Woods
THE RABBIT
ON THE PULPIT
Part 10 “Meeting a bad debtor at Kabagarame in the Woods“
When life gives you a lemon
,
They say, turn it into a lemonade,
That’s how I met Kamonde,
On that Festival day,
After escaping for three years,
All in arrears!
And to say the least tears…
First I saw his wife picking Kikalayi,
The woman beside her was Kakayi,
The woman whose hubby,
Was chubby chubby,
Shabby..
She sat with Shaban,
Next was Laban…
The guy who from campus ,
Stopped us from eating kimele,
At a graduation of our friend,
At Kisozi house, aishi..
By then, no Shisha…Noshisha?
I do not like you Laban,
You knew some were mufarers

The debtor, took a long walk through,
Nyungu thickets, as though puffing,
Then I followed him as though,
Monkey gazing,
Whence, our eyes met!!!
Sweating
profusely,
He knelt down, raised his arms, and hands,
In the thick forest air,
And swore, to sell his land
Settling this incredulous debt,
This time without a doubt..
Again, I was conned,
By his mastery of wit,
Like Kafiti the Village Wag!
