In life, lays its demise

THE DIARY OF A COVID-19 WALKER

Part 189 “In life, lays its demise“

While growing up, in 70s’ and 80s’
I used to think all I needed was to be 40’
Brother , Charles,
Was dead by the tender age of 20’,
This prayer was sort of short,
It was but short or a clearly bad shot..
By then, 🦉 owls were many,
Cahooting, all night especially at 3 am..

Dad passed on at 56’ and then,
Young his wife at 40’something,
So I thought 40’
Was enough to be grey,
So I agreed to prapare to depart!🤦🏾
The beauty, we never signed!
So I sigh..

Alas the while ,
Now, lost for words,in these woods,
Time and again,
Will I, be 100+ ?
To impress,
The Empress,
Even so,
Would I seek,
So to speak,
Life’s extra minute at that peak?
